Myton Hospice Golf Day 2021

One of the many ways in which Myton Hospice raises the funds needed to provide their essential end of life care to many families is via their annual Charity Golf Day. This year we were honoured to have been their official sponsor.

On 16th September at the Coventry Golf Club, a local championship course, Myton held their annual golf day. BRI took two teams who were able, along with the rest of the supporters, to play a full 18 holes on a very sunny Thursday afternoon.

The day commenced with a quick briefing and then a shotgun start, with each team allocated a starting hole. Throughout the day, team members had the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets and participate in a silent auction for a chance to win some fantastic prizes, including overnight stays with breakfast at local countryside gastropubs, and four-balls at local courses such as The Warwickshire and Welcombe Hills. Prizes were also awarded for the longest drive and nearest to the pin.

Once all teams had completed their 18 holes, the evening commenced with an opportunity to network and mingle before the dinner, raffle, live auction, and announcement of the winning team.
Andrew Gillett, BRI’s Head of Wealth Advice, was in attendance and spoke briefly about BRI’s pride to be sponsoring such a worthy cause.

Myton Hospice has confirmed that the total raised on the day and from all twenty teams’ entry was a fantastic £12,000.

The Golf Day is just one of the ways in which BRI continues to support this charity. Two of our financial advisors, Vicki Skinner and Nick Sinclair-Wilson, are set to do the Myton Skydive, which despite being postponed due to COVID-19 has almost reached its fundraising target.

Finally, later this year, several BRI staff members will be participating in the Myton Santa Dash, a 5K run through Leamington Spa dressed in Santa suits! Follow us on Twitter or LinkedIn to see how they get on.
